The final day of the AFL trade period has arrived and there’s still oodles of work to be done. Join me here on The Roar for all the latest AFL trade news and rumours on deadline day, starting from 9am AEST.

First a little PSA: You may remember that in the past, the deadline for completion of trades was a sharp 2pm.

Well, things are a little different this year – to make the most of the high drama that is the end of the trade period, the window is open till 8:30pm tonight.

Yes, that means I’ll be here giving you the latest for just shy of 12 consecutive hours… don’t ever say I don’t treat you nice.

So what’s going to happen today? Well, there’s a ton of big names whose futures still remain very much unclear.

There’s a good chance that Lachie Neale to Brisbane will be the first major domino to fall today which could set of a huge chain reaction.

Pick 5 would certainly go from Brisbane to Fremantle as part of that transaction, but if reports are true then that selection might be about to become the town bicycle.

It could then move quickly to Melbourne as part of a deal for Jesse Hogan, on to Gold Coast for Steven May, and then perhaps to Port Adelaide in a deal that sees Chad Wingard to Hawthorn, Ryan Burton to the Power, and Jack Hombsch to the Suns.

In the middle of all that we’re not even sure what happens to Dayne Beams, Tim Kelly, or the many other players whose future still hangs in the balance with less than 12 hours left on the clock for deals to be completed.
