Show Preview

Top four is on the line for the Brisbane Lions as the host the Collingwood Magpies in footy’s return to Queensland on Saturday night. Follow along on The Roar with live scores from 7:25pm (AEST).

The Lions looked back to their best with a crushing win over Fremantle in Perth last week, and buoyed by the return of Brownlow Medallist Lachie Neale, are heavy favourites here. The loss of hard nut Mitch Robinson to a calf injury is a blow, however.

Two games outside the top four, everything would have to go right for the Lions to earn the double chance from here, but short of that, hitting the finals in top form is the next best thing.

2021 can’t end fast enough for the Magpies, as they look to recover from last year’s trade period debacle and the mid-season sacking of coach Nathan Buckley. Just one win from their last four games, albeit an impressive one over West Coast, says plenty about their current form.

Son of a gun Josh Daicos is back for the Pies among three inclusions, while veteran backman Jeremy Howe has been managed two weeks after returning from a long-term hamstring injury.
