Last year’s biggest success story the Brisbane Lions have a chance to begin building for another crack at a premiership in 2020 when they take on the Port Adelaide Power for their first Marsh Community Series match on Sunday afternoon. Join The Roar for live scores from 4:10pm (AEDT).

After finishing the home-and-away season in second spot only to lose back-to-back home finals to end their season, the Lions will be keen to continue their march back into prominence under Chris Fagan. As for the Power, they’ve missed finals in four of the last five seasons, and coach Ken Hinkley knows another quiet September will likely be his last in the job.

Both sides are nearly at full strength for the trip to Moreton Bay, with the Lions welcoming traded-in trio Grant Birchall (Hawthorn), Cam Ellis-Yolmen (Adelaide), and Callum Ah Chee (Gold Coast) for their first games in maroon, blue and gold. For the Power, ruckman Scott Lycett and star midfielder Ollie Wines will miss, while the match is Tom Jonas’ first as full-time captain, having shared the role with Wines last year.
