Looking to bounce back after a heavy loss, the Brisbane Lions host the Western Bulldogs at The Gabba. Join The Roar for live scores from 7:40pm (AEST).
If there is one game they would love to do over, Tuesday’s rough loss against Richmond would be the one for Brisbane. Heading in with a terrible record against the Tigers is one thing, but kicking 4.17 is another. That defeat blighted a good record for the Lions, who had won three in a row before that, with two of those teams (Essendon and the Giants) potential finals competitors.
The Bulldogs were similarly inaccurate in their Monday night loss to the Power. They were good in general play but terrible at kicking for goal, which saw them drop their second game in contention – the first of those losses coincidentally coming against Richmond too. They sit in eighth with concerns over consistency a common theme for the club.
The Bulldogs haven’t yet played at the Gabba this year, though they did lose a 2019 clash at this venue against Brisbane. The Lions have won every match they’ve played at home this season, three of those by over 30 points. The Doggies do have a superb record against the Lions though, winning five of the last six meetings between the clubs – that aforementioned Gabba loss being the only time the Lions have won since 2015.
