Coming off two damaging losses, the pressure is on the Collingwood Magpies to bounce back against the Sydney Swans. Join The Roar for live scores from 5:40pm (AEST).

Collingwood’s past fortnight has knocked the premiership winds out of their sails – on and off the field. They have dropped two games in disastrous fashion: losing by 66 points to West Coast, and then conceding a winnable game to Freo by two goals. Throw in Nathan Buckley’s COVID-19 breach, and it has been a poor two weeks for the Victorian powerhouse.

Sydney have had a slightly better fortnight. The Swans did secure a win – their third of the season – over Hawthorn in Round 8, but were pummelled by a white-hot St Kilda last Saturday. They head into today’s clash in 17th position and without many obvious chances to steal a fourth win in the foreseeable future.

The tenth-placed Magpies narrowly won the only encounter between these sides last year, but Sydney have a better record: securing three victories from the past five games between the duo.

There’s been changes aplenty for both outfits: Chris Mayne and Travis Varcoe headline the Pies’ omissions. Nick Blakey and Lewis Taylor are two of four Swans dropped from that team. We do see two debutants though: Trey Ruscoe for Buckley’s side and Sam Wicks for John Longmuire’s squad.
