Show Preview

Although it’s only Round 4, Essendon’s clash with Adelaide at Marvel Stadium has an elimination final feel to it. Join The Roar for live scores and rolling coverage from 1:10pm (AEST).

The Bombers haven’t won a game this season and were thumped by 66 points in round one against the Cats, before improving against the Lions and Dees in the proceeding weeks.

The Crows have only had one win, which came in memorable fashion from Jordan Dawson’s boot, who slotted a set shot goal after the siren to win the Showdown.

As the sixth lowest-scoring team in the competition this season, the Crows will benefit from the return of Taylor Walker to their forward line following a six-game suspension for a racist comment he made last year.

Skipper Rory Sloane will also return this week after recovering from adductor tightness in round two against Collingwood.

The Bombers on the other hand will be without Jake Stringer who injured his hamstring at training this week, adding him to the club’s injury list alongside Zach Merrett.

Key defender James Stewart (calf) will also be out for the Bombers while midfielder Tom Cutler enters health and safety protocols.

Devon Smith has been dropped to medical substitute as Alec Waterman, Brandon Zerk-Thatcher and Will Snelling make their way into the side.

Both fan groups will have their sights on seeing improvement from the first three games of the season, particularly with an additional win.

Can the Bombers get their first win of the season without a few key players or will the Crows keep the momentum going from last week with a win away from home?
