The Essendon Bombers will look to end the finals hopes of the Melbourne Demons when they clash at Metricon. Join The Roar for live scores from 2:10pm (AEST).

It’s been a shocking year for the Bombers – after a 5-2 start they’ve managed just one win and a draw since and sit in ladder purgatory – ten points outside the top eight and six points out of the bottom four. Their last two losses have been particularly poor, so they’ll be hoping to rebound and finish 2020 on a high.

Melbourne, on the other hand, have everything to play for. They’ll need the Dockers to upset the Doggies tomorrow, but a win today puts them into the finals should the Bulldogs slip up in that fixture. Demons fans don’t need to be reminded of 2017’s capitulation, however, with the pressure on to just bank the points.

Essendon got up by 18 points in Round 3 last year, the last meeting between these sides. It’s three apiece over the last six meetings, however.
