The Essendon Bombers will look to continue their strong run of form against the ladder-leading Melbourne Demons at the MCG. Stay up to date with the action on The Roar with live scores from 7:25pm (AEST).
It’s tough to see the sides above them faltering enough to open the door, but Essendon are doing their very best to keep themselves in the finals hunt. They’ve won four of their last five matches, with the lone loss being a good effort against Richmond that ended up with a deceptively lopsided margin.
But the heat gets raised again tonight, with the Demons ‘visiting’ the MCG from the lofty perch of first on the ladder. Melbourne have had a mixed month; they’ve decisively knocked off fellow contenders in the Western Bulldogs and Brisbane, but they’ve also been done in by non-finalists in Adelaide and Collingwood. They’ll be hunting a decisive return to form tonight.
The Bombers have lost three of their last four meetings with the Demons and also haven’t defeated them at the MCG since 2014.
