Two bitter rivals go head-to-head on a Saturday night as the Essendon Bombers and the North Melbourne Kangaroos resume hostilities at Metricon Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores from 7:40pm (AEST).

After some unconvincing wins over lesser sides earlier in the year, Essendon made a statement last week with a comprehensive win over Collingwood. While the margin suggests it was a tight affair, the Bombers completely shut down the Pies for three quarters and, with more performances like that, could be a force to be reckoned with in 2020.

North Melbourne looked to be a side to watch out for after the first two rounds, but they’ve been well off the pace since and are looking to avoid a four-game losing streak. The first two of their three losses were by less than two kicks, but they were brushed aside by the Bulldogs last week and need a strong response.

The Bombers made it four straight wins over the Kangaroos last year with a 58-point demolition in Round 5 and a thrilling five-point win in Round 17. The Dons also enjoy playing at Metricon, winning on their last three visits, while North have one of the worst records at the ground (4-3) since redevelopment.
