Saturday football continues with the Fremantle Dockers hosting a struggling Collingwood Magpies outfit at Fremantle Oval. Join The Roar for live scores and a blog of the match from 7:15pm AEDT.

The Dockers continued their impressive, attacking football of Round 1 with a Round 2 victory at home against two-time grand-finalists the Brisbane Lions.

It was Fremantle’s first win over the Lions and it was another game to be excited about, with the Dockers kicking 10 goals including two each from Gabby O’Sullivan and Round 2 Rising Star nomination Sabreena Duffy.

In another challenging start to the season, Collingwood fell short again last weekend, this time to Melbourne by 17-points.

The wind was wreaking havoc, but still, scoreless through the second and third quarters was tough to watch.

Collingwood only just rescued themselves of total embarrassment at their spiritual home against an old foe with a final quarter goal by Sarah Dargan.

Some experienced help in the forward line will surely be welcomed for this clash.

Fremantle were forced to make one change to their side this weekend, with Gabby O’Sullivan ruled out due to a suspension.

After being listed as an emergency for the first two rounds, Brianna Moyes takes O’Sullivan’s place. She is the Dockers’ seventh AFLW debutant this season.

In addition to O’Sullivan, Leah Mascall has been omitted from the side.

Head coach Trent Cooper has opted for Laura Pugh to add height in defence against the taller Collingwood attack.

Meanwhile over at Collingwood the axe has been swung after two losses to open their 2019 campaign.

Lauren Butler, Erica Fowler and Sharni Layton have all been omitted, while vice-captain Emma Grant will miss with a shoulder injury from last weekend’s clash.

Stephanie Alexander will return to the side after missing round two with concussion; Holly Whitford has been named on the interchange for her first game in 2019.

Nicole Hildebrand (Brisbane) and Maddie Shevlin (Melbourne) will make their debuts in the black and white after crossing to the Pies at the end of last year.

Shevlin, a strong midfielder delisted by Melbourne at the conclusion of the 2018 season, has earned her AFLW opportunity with a stellar 2018 VFLW season but will be tested in her first official AFLW game.

The last time these two sides met was in round two, 2018 at Optus Stadium in front of 41,975 people. The Dockers ran out 13-point winners for the first time at their new stadium.

Prediction
Through the first two rounds, Fremantle have been the surprise package. Working together to produce attacking footy, this side really has pulled it all together in 2019.

The same can’t be said for the Magpies, another disappointing start to a season will continue with a loss on the road.
