Port Adelaide is racking up the frequent-flyer miles, facing the Fremantle Dockers at Optus Stadium on Saturday afternoon just a fortnight are flying to Shanghai. Join The Roar for all of the action, with live scores and a blog of the match from 4:35pm AEST.

After a mid-season rest for both Fremantle and Port Adelaide, the two sides will take to the somewhat controversial deck with just one per cent separating them.

Heading into the break, Fremantle scored an impressive victory over Collingwood at the MCG.

For the second week in-a-row Michael Walters was the hero, putting the Dockers in front with the last score of the day. The Dockers hung in there on a day when the Magpies weren’t at their best and closed out an important victory that keeps them in the hunt for the top-eight.

Port Adelaide also went into the week off with a win, a 70-point smashing of St Kilda in very warm conditions in Shanghai.

Now three wins from three attempts, Port Adelaide has the trip to China down to a fine art.

Fremantle have made three changes ahead of this clash.

Rory Lobb and Alex Pearce will miss through injury, while Adam Cerra has been ruled out due to illness.

Alex Pearce went down in the third term of the win against the Magpies, later requiring season-ending surgery on a fractured left ankle.

The luckless defender was in All-Australian conversations throughout his fantastic first-half of the season.

Also, from the match, scans on Lobb’s foot confirmed a stress fracture and the ruckman will miss an extended period of time, though a time-frame has not been established.

Sean Darcy, Griffin Logue and Stephen Hill have been included in the side; Hill returns for his first AFL game in over 10 months.

Port Adelaide have made one change for the trip west.

Matthew Broadbent will take an indefinite leave of absence from football, to allow the defender to focus on his mental health.

Hamish Hartlett takes his place in the backline, making his long-awaited return to AFL after more than 12 months out of the game.

Hartlett had recurring hamstring issues this year that have delayed his return from a ruptured ACL suffered at training in April 2018.

The last time these two teams met was in round 17, 2018 at Optus Stadium. In a low-scoring match, Fremantle dealt the first in a series of blows, which would eventually send Port sliding down the ladder and missing finals.

A couple of young players will reach their 50-game milestone this round.

Fremantle’s Connor Blakely and a pair of Power midfielders – Karl Amon and Sam Powell-Pepper – will all play their 50th AFL games when they take to the field on Saturday.

Prediction
Round 13 is proving difficult to tip.

Fremantle at home sound like a good bet, though Port played this ground well against the Eagles earlier in the year.

You just don’t know which version of these two teams is going to rock up.
