Geelong are after a win to cement their spot in the top eight when they host an Adelaide team beginning to splutter after a strong start to the season. Join The Roar for live scores and rolling coverage from 1:45pm (AEST).

The Crows have lost four in a row after a series of thrilling wins earlier in the year, and as a result find themselves yet again entrenched in the bottom four.

Making matters worse, they head to the Cattery minus spearhead Taylor Walker (COVID) and first-year goalsneak Josh Rachele (corked thigh), putting even more pressure on much-maligned forward Darcy Fogarty to lead the attack against a miserly Cats defence.

However, key defender Jordon Butts is a timely inclusion from the AFL’s health and safety protocols, while a dominant SANFL performance has seen Reilly O’Brien recalled. After long stints in the seconds, Matt Crouch and Wayne Milera have also earned their call-ups.

The Cats are doing enough to keep themselves in the eight, but sitting at 6-4, they are not the dominant force they have been in years gone by.

Their loss to Fremantle in Round 7 was also their third loss in the last 12 months at their one-time fortress in Geelong. However, against a struggling Crows outfit, they’d be expected to get the job done here, even with superstar Patrick Dangerfield out with a calf injury.
