GMBHA Stadium hosts Friday night footy as Round 15 with a clash between the Geelong Cats and Adelaide Crows. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 7:20pm (AEST).

Yes, this is a tantalising Friday-night clash. We’ll see two big rivals both desperate for a statement win.

The Crows’ last-start victory was two weeks ago, given the bye, and came against an injury-hit Richmond.

Geelong, though, are coming off a bad loss last Saturday in South Australia. That defeat, against Port Adelaide, continued the Cats’ dreadful post-bye record. The thing is, though, their record in the round-after-the-round-after-the-bye is superb, which might worry the Crows.

Adelaide’s last few weeks have been strong (three straight wins before the bye), and that sees them sitting in fifth place heading into tonight’s clash.

The Cats, despite last week’s loss, are still in first, but losing this one coupled with a Collingwood win on Saturday would see their one-game advantage on the ladder evaporate.

Both teams have made a couple of changes for tonight’s clash. Adelaide have lost three players to injury: Josh Jenkins, Wayne Mileria and Cam Ellis-Yoleman. Byrce Gibbs, Elliott Himmelberg and Ben Davis are all included in tonight’s squad.

Geelong have made two changes: Darcy Fort’s been omitted, while Gary Rohan is out through injury. Lachie Fogarty and Jed Bews are their replacements.

Prediction

History says Geelong should be winning this one. But history often means naught. The Crows have looked better recently, but at home, I’m going to back the Cats to win.

Geelong by 22 points.
