Life without Tom Stewart begins now for Geelong as they aim to begin their four-week stint sans the suspended star with a win over the struggling North Melbourne. Join The Roar for live scores and rolling coverage from 7:25pm (AEST).

Stewart has been joined on the sidelines by Cats captain Joel Selwood, who has been rested from this clash with an eye on next week’s match against reigning premiers Melbourne, only five days away.

Replacing them, though, is superstar Patrick Dangerfield, who finally returns from a niggling calf injury. Forward Gary Rohan is also back, having missed last week’s thrilling victory over Richmond with illness.

The Roos have entered uncharted territory in this most dire of seasons – no team in VFL/AFL history had ever gone 10 straight matches of defeats by 40-plus points before. But the club’s abject loss to Adelaide last week officially confirmed the record, putting another unwanted marker next to their name.

Marooned in last on the ladder and looking all but certain to claim a second straight wooden spoon, things are seriously ugly at Arden Street at the moment. Their three changes are unlikely to move the needle much at the Cattery, either, with Tarryn Thomas missing through personal reasons after being affected badly by the loss of his grandmother against the Crows.
