The 2020 grand final rematch has been forced behind closed doors as the Geelong Cats take on the Richmond Tigers at an empty MCG. Follow along with the action here on The Roar with live scores from 3:20pm (AEST).

Melbourne’s COVID-19 outbreak couldn’t have come at a worse time for the AFL, with this match one of two serious blockbusters fans won’t be able to attend for the round. The league also attracted the ire of the Cats, by denying their request to move the game to their home ground of GMHBA Stadium given the lack of fans.

Despite the snub, the Cats are still heavy favourites to take down the reigning premiers for the second time this season. They inflicted a 63-point drubbing on the Tigers back in Round 8, though while Jeremy Cameron will miss this time around after a six-goal haul in that match.

The Tigers’ fall from grace was momentarily halted by a shock win over Brisbane to mark Jack Riewoldt’s 300th game in the best way possible last round. Another upset over a top-four contender would definitely announce to the world that the champs are back in business. They’ll have to do it without Dustin Martin, however; the three-time Norm Smith Medal winner ruled out for the remainder of the season with a severe kidney injury.

Also out for the Tigers is wingman Kamdyn McIntosh, but triple-premiership star Shane Edwards returns from an ankle injury that has kept him out for the last fortnight. The Cats welcome back sharpshooter Gary Rohan and defender Lachie Henderson.
