Football heads to the Top End for Indigenous Round as Gold Coast look to keep in touch with the top eight against a Hawthorn outfit fresh off their best win under new coach Sam Mitchell. Join The Roar for live scores and rolling coverage from Darwin from 7:40pm (AEST).

The Suns have been one of the surprise packets of 2022, with a few fantastic wins against quality opponents at various stages across the first ten rounds. Stuart Dew’s side has been fast, explosive and have proved that they can match it with best when pushed to the limit. Last week’s loss to the Bulldogs could have gone either way and the wins over the Swans and the Dockers are two of the most famous in the club’s short history.

Touk Miller is on track to earn back-to-back All Australian jackets as he is putting together another season to remember. He averages 24 disposals against the Hawks and will be looking to grow that further as he finds himself matched up against Tom Mitchell and his youthful midfield. Miller is a clear target for the tag but has the ability to break it when pushed.

Hawthorn pulled off the unthinkable last week when they knocked off the Lions at their second home down at York Park, Launceston. After swapping the lead at various stages throughout the match, they managed to hold on for a famous victory against a quality opposition.

Jai Newcombe is putting together a rising star quality season averaging just under 23 disposals per match across the first ten rounds. Tom Mitchell appears to have hit a patch of form and looks to be back to his best as he comes up against one of the emerging sides in the competition in the Suns.

Prediction

This game is a toss of the coin. I flipped a 20c coin and it looks like the Suns are going to pull this one off by less than a kick.
