GWS are looking to avoid a nightmare 0-3 start against an improving Gold Coast in an early pressure test on Leon Cameron’s men. Join The Roar for live scores from 4:35pm (AEDT).

The Giants’ trip to the MCG to face Melbourne last week couldn’t have gone much worse. Not only were they shown up by the Tigers in a worryingly lacklustre performance, but veteran key defender Phil Davis suffered a serious hamstring injury that could sideline him for the next three months.

Leon Cameron has swung the axe with five changes, including selecting ruckman Braydon Preuss for his first game at the club. After injuries wrecked his 2021, the former Demon and Kangaroo gets the chance he has been clamouring for for years: the number one ruck role at AFL level. Can he make the most of the chance to do it solo against Suns co-captain Jarrod Witts?

The Suns remain an enigma, but after a win in Perth over West Coast and a creditable loss to Melbourne, they’ve certainly had a better start than the Giants.

Key to their success has been their midfield, and the head-to-head battle between Touk Miller, Matt Rowell and Noah Anderson and Tom Green, Josh Kelly and Tim Taranto will have a big part in deciding this match.
