The GWS Giants welcome the Gold Coast Suns to Giants Stadium today looking to build on a solid start to the season. Join The Roar for live scores and a blog of the match, starting from 1:45pm (AEST).

The Giants were impressive against the Melbourne Demons last weekend, leaving the Melbourne Cricket Ground as 26-point winners.

It arguably should have been more, but Leon Cameron’s side did drop off quite a bit when the game was already won.

GWS had only won two of their 16 matches at the MCG leading into that game against the Demons last weekend, so they will be fairly happy with the result.

Tim Taranto led the way for the Giants, with the youngster accumulating 32 disposals for the game. Josh Kelly was also terrific, with the midfielder finding the ball 31 times.

Harry Himmelberg was immense in front of goal, booting five majors for the match. Jeremy Cameron also had a solid day, kicking three majors and continuing his good form in 2019.

In team news this week for the Giants, Lachie Keeffe comes into the side for the injured Sam Taylor. After 10 rounds, GWS have secured seven wins.

As for Stuart Dew’s Suns, they fell 27 points short of the Geelong Cats at Metricon Stadium last weekend.

They were in the game for quite a while, but the reality is, Geelong are a more seasoned and better side. Despite the loss, the Suns showed exactly why they are on the right path.

In terms of solid performers for the Suns against the Cats, Brayden Fiorini and David Swallow continued their solid start to the season, as they both reeled in 29 disposals each.

Alex Sexton showed his worth in front of goal, finishing the game with three majors next to his name.

In team news this week for the Suns, George Horlin-Smith and Josh Schoenfeld come into the side. Ben Ainsworth and Jarrod Harbrow make way due to injury.

After 10 rounds, Gold Coast have secured three wins.

Prediction
The Suns have improved this season and have shown glimpses of what the future may hold, but the Giants will have too much quality in this game.

The Giants by 37 points.
