Show Preview

Toby Greene is back for the GWS Giants as they look to retain their spot in the top eight against the Port Adelaide Power in the final match of a crazy Round 20. Follow the action from Marvel Stadium with live scores on The Roar from 6:10pm (AEST).

This match was originally scheduled to be played on the Gold Coast, but Queensland’s snap COVID-19 lockdown has forced the two teams to Victoria, with their match subsequently pushed back several hours.

Greene’s return from COVID-19 isolation after attending the Wallabies game comes at the perfect time for the Giants. Last week’s stirring win over Essendon has them currently in eighth, albeit with a trickier run home than many of the sides below them. With Geelong and Richmond in the next fortnight, they can ill afford to drop this one.

Alongside Greene, youngster and mid-season draftee James Peatling has been named for his debut.

Despite accusations that they are merely flat-track bullies, the Power have done enough that a spot in the top four is now theirs to lose. However, a solitary loss in the run home could be enough to see them drop out for Brisbane or even Sydney, so securing the four points in a match like this they are expected to win is paramount.

Recruit Orazio Fantasia returns for his first match since the Power’s bye, adding to the list of players Ken Hinkley has back at his disposal in the lead-in to finals.
