The Hawthorn Hawks will look to climb out of the bottom four and end the finals hopes of the Essendon Bombers when they clash at the Adelaide Oval. Join The Roar for live scores from 4:40pm (AEST).
Hawthorn put in one of their better performances of the season last week against the ladder-leading Power, but they still fell short by ten points – their seventh loss from their last eight games. Finals are out of the question for the Hawks, but coach Alastair Clarkson will be demanding a strong finish to the season.
The Bombers, on the other hand, still have a sniff, but they need to arrest their winless run pronto. After starting the year 5-2, they’ve suffered four losses and a draw in the five matches since and now sit six points adrift in 12th place.
Last year’s meeting between these sides Essendon triumph by 19 points on the back of four multiple goalkickers and dominance in the middle. The Dons have won their last three matches at the Adelaide Oval, while the Hawks had won two in a row before losing last week.
