The Hawthorn Hawks are searching for their second win of the year against the undefeated Melbourne Demons at the MCG. Stay up to date with their AFL clash with live scores on The Roar from 3:20pm (AEST).

After some impressive efforts in the first three rounds, Hawthorn would have to be disappointed with how badly they played against Fremantle last week. In a match that looked winnable, the Hawks instead conceded a 34-point quarter time lead that, despite their improved effort afterwards, was never surmountable. They’ll seek a much-improved performance today.

Meanwhile, Melbourne are in the midst of their best start to a season since 1994 and passed a big test last week with a four-goal win over Geelong. The undefeated Demons are looking more and more like the side that went to a preliminary final in 2018 and, while question marks will always abound as to their psyche, will back themselves to keep putting up wins.

The Dees got up by 43 points when these sides met last year, their third win in a row over the Hawks. Melbourne haven’t won four in a row over Hawthorn since 1960. The Demons have won their last two matches at the MCG after losing five in a row, while the Hawks have lost their last two matches at the ground after having won four in a row.
