Sunday night footy comes to us from the Gold Coast as the Melbourne Demons host the Brisbane Lions. Join The Roar for live scores from 6:10pm (AEST).

Melbourne are on a rare streak. After not winning consecutive games since early in the 2019 season, the Dees surpassed that barrier with a strong victory over Hawthorn last Sunday. That performance followed a win over the Gold Coast the week prior. Unfortunately for the Demons, they are the underdogs headed into today’s clash at Carrara.

The Lions, too, find themselves in some good form. They’ve secured four victories from their last five starts, their only loss being a hefty defeat at the hands of Geelong last week. Prior to that, they got the better of GWS by 20 points away from home.

The Lions sit second on the ladder, one win behind ladder leaders Port and only two points ahead of the Pies and Tigers duo. The Dees have moved out of the bottom four and currently sit 12th.

Both teams have decent overall records at Metricon Stadium. Simon Goodwin’s men have visited nine times for four victories, while the Lions have travelled down the highway 11 times, winning six of those clashes.

Aaron Vandernberg is the only confirmed out for the Demons, as he’ll miss with a jaw injury. Nathan Jones, Adam Tomlinson and Tom McDonald are all potential inclusions.

The Lions have suffered a huge loss in Stefan Martin, who is out for two months with injury. Rhys Mathieson, Alex Witherden and debutant pair Connor Balanden and Keidean Coleman are all chances of playing.
