Match result:

The Adelaide Crows are the first side to defeat the North Melbourne Kangaroos this season, as Erin Phillips’ side claimed a 35-point victory over North at Chirnside Park today.

It was a very hot afternoon in Werribee, and with that, it was a fairly close game for the majority of the match, but the Crows proved too fit and hungry over the course of four quarters.

Adelaide captain Phillips had a sensational game, reeling in 23 disposals and kicking two majors.

As for North Melbourne, Emma Kearney led the way with 31 disposals, but her efforts were not enough to get her side over the line.

Final score
North Melbourne: 4.5.29
Adelaide: 10.4.64

There was plenty of talk about North Melbourne before the season got underway, and they have lived up to all the expectations.

They have four wins from four games, and the best victory came last week against the Melbourne Demons.

Both sides went into the clash in good form, and with that being the case, it turned out to be a real nail-biter.

The Kangaroos were challenged by the Demons, but Scott Gowans side showed they have another dimension to their game, as they grinded out a four-point victory.

Jamie Stanton and Jessica Duffin found plenty of the ball, both reeling in 20 disposals or more.

It was Emma King though that was the difference in the end, as she booted three majors in a low-scoring clash. Moana Hope also popped up with two goals.

North Melbourne have no reason to have any doubts going into the game this weekend. They are seriously flying.

As for the Crows, they are coming off a different type of win. They defeated the Fremantle Dockers by 42 points, which no doubt will give the Crows the confidence they need to defeat the Kangaroos.

What was impressive about the performance was just how even it was. There were multiple contributors across the board, which no doubt always makes a big difference.

Erin Phillips had a sensational game last week, as she reeled in 25 disposals and kicked two majors. Anne Hatchard also continued her stunning form with a 22-disposal game.

Stevie-Lee Thompson showed her class in front of goal booting two majors.

Prediction
It is so difficult to look past the Kangaroos at the minute. The Crows are coming off a thumping win against the Dockers, but North just look like they are on a completely different level at the minute.

North Melbourne to prevail by 14 points.
