The Brisbane Lions will hope to solidify a spot in the top two as they play against a lowly North Melbourne at Metricon Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores from 2:35pm (AEST).

Brisbane simply needed to bounce back from a disastrous loss against Richmond in Round 10, and did just that with a relatively comfortable win over the Bulldogs last Friday night. Their latest victory was important – it kept them second behind Port on the ladder, and a game clear from third. The Lions – barring that Tigers defeat – have been in good touch lately, winning four of their last five, and having a super long (for 2020 standards) seven-day break since their last clash.

North Melbourne have been awful lately, winning just once since Round 2, and heading into today on a six-day break after losing to the Demons last week. That one win was two weeks ago over the Crows, a win that was quickly followed up by a loss to Geelong.

Rhys Shaw’s side are bottom four certainties unless they regain some form, something that is complicated by the fact that they face Collingwood next week, a clash they’ll also start underdogs in.

It’s difficult to see North challenging here on current form, but historical stats don’t bode well either. They lost twice to Brisbane last year, not winning against the Lions since early 2018.

They have also lost twice heavily at this ground this year, offset by the win over the Crows. The Lions have a similar 1-2 record here, winning twice but losing the Richmond at this venue.
