It will be the apprentice versus the master as Rhyce Shaw’s North Melbourne Kangaroos take on John Longmire’s Sydney Swans at Marvel Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores from 1:45pm (AEST).

North Melbourne find themselves near the top of the AFL ladder as one of just three sides to win their first two matches. It hasn’t been easy, with a huge second-half comeback required to down St Kilda in Round 1, while last week’s win over the Giants was very close until the end. Still, their pressure has been second to none as they try to further their reputation as a hard-nosed, physical side that nobody enjoys playing.

Sydney have had both of their 2020 matches decided by a kick; a three-point win over Adelaide and a six-point loss to Essendon. They did well to get themselves back in the contest against the Bombers after falling behind by 20 points in the first quarter, but came up just short all the same. With Sam Naismith still absent, Callum Sinclair will have a lot to do against Todd Goldstein in the ruck.

The Roos and Swans have a habit of serving up thrillers, with their last three encounters all decided by under a goal. Sydney have an excellent recent record against North, winning seven of the last ten, and haven’t lost to the Kangas in Melbourne since 2007.
