The Port Adelaide Power take on the Essendon Bombers in Orazio Fantasia’s first game against his old side. Stay up to date with their AFL clash with live scores on The Roar from 4:35pm (AEDT).

The reigning minor premiers, after some early resistance, had little trouble dealing with lowly North Melbourne last Sunday. The Power broke the shackles late in the second quarter with a run of eight straight goals either side of half time to set up a dominant 52-point win. Fantasia was dominant up forward in his Port debut, kicking four goals, and will look to repeat the dose this afternoon against his former club.

The Bombers looked the goods in the first half of their season opener against Hawthorn, taking a 39-point lead into the sheds at half time. Unfortunately, they could only manage three goals to their opponents’ ten in a woeful second half as they succumbed to defeat by a solitary point. The turnaround was the biggest half time deficit surrendered by a coach in the first match and has put the blowtorch on Essendon early.

Port had no issues brushing the Dons aside when they met last season, holding them to just four goals for the game in a dominant 50-point victory – their second straight against the Bombers. The result actually broke a run of four straight wins for Essendon at the Adelaide Oval, however – a venue they’ve played strongly at.
