Port Adelaide will try and stay in the AFL finals race against a struggling Western Bulldogs side. Join The Roar for live scores and a blog of the match, starting from 7:40pm (AEST).

The Power sit in seventh spot on the ladder with seven wins from 13 games and will look to keep themselves in the top eight with a win over the 6-8 Bulldogs.

Port have had a zig-zag run of form with a win and a loss in their last two games – and if that continues, they are due for a loss. But they shocked everyone with an 11-point win over Geelong in Adelaide last week in what was a critical win at this stage of the season.

The Bulldogs have one win from their last five and are coming off a close loss to Collingwood last week. They pushed the Pies from start to finish and were unlucky to walk away without the four points, the nine-point loss a respectable result for a team sitting outside the top eight.

These sides last met in Round 19 last season with the Power being far too strong for the Bulldogs in Ballarat. Charlie Dixon was the destroyer for Port then, kicking five goals.

The Adelaide Oval has been a hoodoo ground for the Bulldogs in recent years. Luke Beveridge’s men have claimed just one win in their past six games there, and with Port being lucky enough to have back-to-back home games they won’t have to deal with the interstate travel before the game.

The Robbie Gray versus Marcus Bontempelli duel in the game should be a spectacle, with both playing at a typically high level this season.

Both teams will have a lot to play for with neither wanting to give up any sort of ground in the finals race. The Power should keep up their winning ways and stop the Bulldogs from putting everything together from last week for the full four quarters.

Port Adelaide by 30.
