The Richmond Tigers welcome the GWS Giants to the Melbourne Cricket Ground today, looking to build on the past couple of weeks. Join The Roar for live scores and a blog of the match, starting from 1:10pm (AEST).

This is a huge game for both sides. The reason being is simply because of where they both sit on the ladder, and a loss really could be a big blow, as the season is so tight.

Despite having injuries to key players, Damien Hardwick’s side have found some form in recent weeks. They have notched up nine wins from 15 rounds.

The Tigers are coming off a thumping 92-point victory over the Gold Coast Suns, which took place at Metricon Stadium last weekend.

Dion Prestia had a solid game for Richmond against the Suns, as he finished the match with 28 disposals, and he also kicked a major.

Jason Castagna was very sharp in front of goal, as he finished with five majors next to his name for the match. Tom Lynch and Kane Lambert both kicked three majors each, also.

In team news this week for the Tigers, Jack Riewoldt comes in for the omitted Jack Graham.

As for the Giants, their season has a taken a turn for the worst. After 15 rounds, they have accumulated nine wins, which does not sound that bad, but they have struggled to secure the points in previous weeks.

Leon Cameron’s side are coming off a 20-point loss to the Brisbane Lions, which took place at Giants Stadium last weekend.

Stephen Coniglio had a solid game and continued his terrific season against the Lions, as the midfielder found the ball 34 times.

Harry Himmelberg booted four majors for his side. Toby Greene also kicked three, but the efforts of neither were able to get the Giants over the line.

In team news this week for the Giants, Josh Kelly (calf), Zac Langdon (ankle), Jeremy Finlayson (omitted) and Jackson Hately (omitted) all make way.

Bobby Hill, Daniel Lloyd, Matt Buntine and Lachie Whitfield are the inclusions. It will be Hill’s first game at the AFL level.

Prediction
The Tigers have found a bit of form in the last couple of weeks, and the Giants have lost a bit of form. With the game being at the ‘G, Richmond should claim another victory.

Richmond to prevail by 24 points.
