After two consecutive losses, St Kilda are out to prove they’re still a legitimate premiership contender when they host Geelong at Marvel Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores and rolling coverage from 4:35pm (AEST).

Defeats to Port Adelaide in Melbourne have seen the Saints drop to 7th on the ladder, and risks ruining the five-win streak that instilled them as not just finals contenders, but premiership contenders.

They have had moments in the past fortnight, but inaccuracy continues to cruel them at crucial stages. However, several key names are beginning to return from injury, with Zak Jones playing his first game of the season last week and Jack Billings to do likewise in Round 9.

Goalsneak Dan Butler will miss with an Achilles problem, putting more weight on the shoulders of small forward Jack Higgins to work at Max King’s feet and kick a winning score.

The Cats look once again bound for finals, sitting 5th with a 5-3 record – the same as the Saints, albeit with a better percentage.

While they were stunned at home by Fremantle, last week showed what they can do against lesser opposition, dismantling GWS and allowing Jeremy Cameron and Tom Hawkins to run riot up forward with six goals between them – five to Cameron.

Tyson Stengle, too, has been a revelation after being handed an AFL lifeline, his three goals against the Giants continuing his career-best form.

Ominously for the Saints, the Cats welcome back skipper Joel Selwood from a rest and ruckman Rhys Stanley, with Jed Bews the only forced absentee due to a concussion.
