The St Kilda Saints head to the Gabba to take on the Sydney Swans. Join The Roar for live scores from 5:10pm (AEST).
St Kilda are riding high at the moment, beginning the round in the top eight and breaking a long-running Adelaide Oval hoodoo with a win against the Crows a fortnight ago. They backed that up last Saturday night with a brilliant victory over Port Adelaide at the same venue.
This sees them heading into this evening’s clash as strong favourites, but inconsistency remains a worry with Brett Ratten’s squad.
St Kilda’s favouritism becomes a little less certain when looking at their record against their opponents. The Swans have secured ten straight victories over them, with the Victorian team’s last win coming in Round 9, 2012.
Fortunately for the Saints, John Longmire’s squad have been poor this season. Sitting 14th, Sydney have won just three games so far this year. Their victory last Sunday came over a similarly poor Hawthorn side sitting in 15th.
Sydney’s record at this ground is narrowly in positive territory, with 11 wins and ten losses. The Saints have only won here six times in their history. Neither side have played at the venue this season so far.
