The Sydney Swans will look to shore up their spot in the top eight when they host the Carlton Blues at the SCG. Tune into this Sunday afternoon AFL match with live scores on The Roar from 3:20pm (AEST).

The Swans had their hearts broken late last week, going down to Fremantle in Perth by just two points. However, there were plenty of silver linings, most notably a stunning six-goal haul from champion forward Lance Franklin.

‘Buddy’ has history against the Blues at the SCG; one of his two career 10-goal hauls came against them back in 2017. Key defenders Liam Jones and Jacob Weitering will have their work cut out for them to avoid a repeat performance.

The Blues were a class above Hawthorn at the MCG in Round 10, but the Swans are up another level. The Blues are yet to take a scalp in 2021, with a 0-4 record against the current top eight, and until they get one, pressure will continue to mount on coach David Teague.

They have, however, made a major statement at the selection table, with former captain Marc Murphy dropped. Exciting forward Jack Martin returns for just his second match of the season, with a PCL injury having kept him out since Round 2.
