Sydney are looking to bounce back from last week’s shock loss to Essendon when they host a Western Bulldogs outfit desperate to keep their finals hopes alive. Join The Roar for live scores and rolling coverage from 7:50pm (AEST).

The Swans’ best this year has been premiership-worthy – they’ve beaten both the top two in Melbourne and Geelong, as well as Richmond and St Kilda.

However, their loss to the Bombers has left them sitting vulnerably in eighth, just a game ahead of the Bulldogs in tenth and percentage clear of the Saints in ninth; defeat here could see them in danger of missing the finals altogether.

The Swans will miss ruckman Tom Hickey through illness, while young key forward Logan McDonald is a surprise omission. In come ruck pair Peter Ladhams and Joel Amartey, to do battle with Bulldogs gun Tim English.

English was best afield for the Dogs in their last clash with the Swans in Round 3, and his return from concussion couldn’t be more badly needed.

The Dogs’ comfortable loss to Brisbane has left them in real danger of missing the finals after a grand final for the second time under Luke Beveridge; barring a surprise victory in Sydney, they’ll be all but gone with a tough draw to come.

Alongside English, young half-back Ed Richards returns from his own concussion, while Mitch Hannan’s lengthy absence through yet another concussion has ended. Robbie McComb, Tim O’Brien, Hayden Crozier and Jordon Sweet have paid the price for the Dogs’ loss last week.
