One of the AFL’s fiercest rivalries heads north to Joondalup, as the West Coast Eagles and Fremantle Dockers lock horns in the year’s first Western Derby. Join The Roar for live scores from 7:10pm (AEDT).

The Eagles head into 2020 as one of the premiership favourites, and while they surprisingly lost to Essendon in their first pre-season match last week, they’ve named a much stronger side for this game.

Star midfielder Elliot Yeo, silky winger Andrew Gaff and defender Brad Sheppard, who all played in the AFL’s State of Origin match, are back in Eagles colours, and look for the former pair to form a deadly combination with boom recruit Tim Kelly in the centre.

Nat Fyfe also missed the Dockers’ first pre-season match due to commitments as the All Stars’ captain, but the reigning Brownlow Medallist will be keen to lead the troops in his first game under new coach Justin Longmuir.

With several Dockers, including former Saint Blake Acres, set to miss the early rounds through injury, the Dockers’ youngsters and lesser lights will know an impressive performance in this game could well mean a Round 1 debut.
