It’s a crunch Friday night for the Wester Bulldogs as they look to keep their finals hopes alive with a win over Hawthorn under the roof. Join The Roar for live scores and rolling coverage from 7pm (AEST).

The Bulldogs are coming off a brutal and high-scoring affair against the Giants last week, and managed to hold on for a 20-point win up in Sydney.

They will be missing Tim English in the ruck tonight as he recovers from concussion, while Taylor Duryea will also be sidelined after suffering an MCL injury. Jordon Sweet will come into the starting ruck position, whilst Duryea has been replaced by Hayden Crozier.

Another surprise selection after last week’s match is young gun, Cody Weightman, despite dislocating his elbow in the third quarter against the Giants. Coming off an impressive 5-goal haul despite the injury, he will continue to bring excitement, speed and elite marking ability into the Bulldogs forward line. Aaron Naughton will also be looking to continue his strong patch of form after also kicking five goals last week.

Hawthorn are coming into this one fresh after the bye last week. In their last two outings, against Fremantle and Collingwood, they have been super impressive in what can only be described as honourable losses.

They welcome back Mitch Lewis, Jarman Impey and James Worpel into the side this evening, but have lost Sam Frost, Will Day and Chad Wingard to various illnesses and injuries.

Lewis is having a stellar season so far and will be the difference-maker tonight. He has booted 27 goals so far this season in what is looking to be a breakout campaign for the 23-year old. Impey will add an extra layer of class through the backline and midfield and Worpel will be looking to solidify himself a spot in the Hawks’ first-choice midfield.

I think the Bulldogs will be challenged by the Hawks tonight and I am going to tip Hawthorn for the upset win by 12 points.
