2018 AFL Grand Final Highlights: West Coast Eagles down the Collingwood Magpies in a thriller

The West Coast Eagles have claimed their first premiership since 2006, beating the Collingwood Magpies by five points in the 2018 AFL Grand Final at the MCG.

Adam Simpson’s men had to overcome a lacklustre start, with the Magpies slotting the opening five goals of the contest to have the black and white faithful in a frenzy.

However, led by Luke Shuey the Eagles were able to wrestle back some of the momentum, slotting two goals of their own in a row, before bringing the margin back to just 12 points at half time.

A fittingly tight tussle emerged in the second half, with the two sides remaining locked at eight goals seven behinds prior to the last quarter.

Yet with the flag on the line, after a run of five consecutive behinds, West Coast midfielder Dom Sheed was the hero, booting the match-winning goal to complete a remarkable come from behind victory.
