AFL CEO admits Behavioural Awareness Officers are a bad look
AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan said that it’s not the directive of the AFL to crack down on fan behaviour but the venues’ responsibility which includes the controversial Behavioural Awareness Officers.
Personally, McLachlan said he wasn’t a fan of the BAOs and can understand why supporters aren’t happy with their gameday experience.
However, he said it was imperative that AFL remains a family-friendly sport and it’s important to get the balance right between emotional support and anti-social behaviour.
