Concern for Stephen Coniglio after going down with serious-looking knee injury
GWS star Stephen Coniglio has been dealt a cruel blow, suffering a knee injury in the opening minutes of the Giants’ clash with Richmond at the MCG.
After contesting for the footy at ground level Coniglio pulled up sore and needed to be helped from the field by medical staff, unable to put any weight on his left leg.
Coniglio entered the game with strapping on his left knee.
Fox Footy commentator Jason Dunstall was startled by the lack of contact that led to Coniglio’s injury, while the ABC’s Luke Ball was concerned by the jarring motion.
"I hate playing doctor, Burkey we both did an ACL. It did sort of have that mechanism but interestingly he was out there so he obviously jarred it last week."
