WATCH: Gallen vs Hall ends in controversial result

Paul Gallen and Barry Hall have fought out a spirited draw at the Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne.

In a fight that gave many north and south of the border the hope of finally proving just who could win a code war, Paul Gallen and Barry Hall could not be split in their heavyweight fight in Melbourne.

While the majority of the fighting world felt Gallen was a sure thing considering his experience and unbeaten record, Hall gave as good as he got and pushed the former Cronulla captain all the way to the final second of the sixth round.

In fact, many felt Hall had been the winner, despite Gallen’s claims that he was the man who took the fight to his opponent and deserved the victory.

Many felt quite the opposite and believed Hall had landed the most significant blows of the evening

Hall came into the fight behind the eight ball. Four years Gallen’s senior and without boxing experience, many thought he would be pulverised.

It was to be nothing of the sort for Hall as he dominated the early rounds as Gallen felt the pressure of his quick hands and fast movement.

By the final two rounds, fatigue had set in and the fighters lacked the power to seal the deal.

A drawn decision potentially flattered Gallen yet there was little between the two men after one of the best celebrity fights we have seen in Australia for some time.

The result sets things up rather perfectly for the promoters with another bout likely in the new year.
