WATCH: The moment Lachie Neale won the 2020 Brownlow Medal

Brisbane Lions superstar Lachie Neale has romped to an easy win in the 2020 AFL Brownlow Medal.

The red-hot favourite heading into the prestigious event, Neale polled 3 votes a staggering 10 times to win the medal in a canter by 10 votes over Port Adelaide veteran Travis Boak (21 votes), and Melbourne and St Kilda rising stars Christian Petracca and Jack Steele (20 each).

The margin is the biggest final lead since the Brownlow adopted the current 3-2-1 voting system, while Neale’s average of 1.82 votes per game is the most in history.

The win crowns an incredible season from the clearance king, who adds the Brownlow to his AFL Players Association MVP Award and AFL Coaches Association Player of the Year Award.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a different feel to the 2020 Brownlow count, with last year’s winner Nat Fyfe – a great friend of Neale from their days at Fremantle – unable to award the Lion the medal, with the Dockers holding their own event in Perth.
