After spending 13 years with the Patriots, Matt Patricia is now head coach of the Lions. This week he welcomes his former side to Detroit, as they look for their first week of 2018.
The Lions have been poor so far this season, but they are building a team and coaching staff, so it will take time for them to gel.
Quarterback Matty Stafford hasn’t been good to start the year. They were trashed by the Jets in week one and fell short against the 49ers in week two.
This will be a tough game for them this week.
The Patriots are missing several decent players, due to injury and suspension, and haven’t started the way they usually do.
They overcame the Texans in week one, just. They were soundly beaten by the Jaguars in week two. They certainly are struggling on offense to start the season.
The recent acquisition of wide receiver Josh Gordon will help to elevate those matters, but they are not the team that we all expected them to be.
Matt Patricia who spent years working under Belichick in New England will be taught a lesson this week.
Prediction
Expect the Patriots to find form and destroy the Lions away from home.
