Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield didn’t wait to give his take on teammate Myles Garrett’s actions in the final seconds of the win over Pittsburgh.
Crazy scenes emerged as after getting into a scuffle with Pittsburgh’s Mason Rudolph, Garrett ripped the Steelers quarterback’s helmet off and struck him with it, as a brawl erupted.
Mayfield denounced Garrett’s conduct as “inexcusable” and “endangering the other team”.
Meanwhile, in his post-match press conference Rudolph described Garrett’s act as “cowardly” and “bush league”.
Garrett has since apologised and says he regrets letting his emotions get the better of him.
The former number one draft pick has been suspended for the rest of the regular and postseason – the longest ban in the NFL’s history for a single on-field act.
