The fake field goal play from only a few metres out saw holder Gunner Talkington pretend to set the ball up for his kicker before instead flicking it back towards teammate Jayce Gilder, who made his way into the end-zone.
Unfortunately for Eastern Washington, the creative play wasn’t enough to stop the North Dakota State juggernaut, who went on to claim a 38-24 victory on their way to their seventh championship from the last eight years.
