It’s been a tough weekend for pre-game sideshows in sport.
Just days after Canberra forward Joey Leilua was temporarily forced off the field before the Raiders’ win over the Melbourne Storm had even started when he copped a fragment of a firework in the eye, the NFL has witnessed its own pre-game debacle.
The Tennessee Titans’ pre-game show to introduce their players and put the crowd into a frenzy was just too hot to handle when their pyrotechnic machine caught fire and caused a brief delay to their game against the Indianapolis Colts.
Thankfully, no one is reported to have been injured.
Sadly for the Titans, they couldn’t quite bring the same heat to the match, falling two points short of the Colts.
