Star quarterback booed by his own fans after retiring two weeks before the season starts
It hasn’t taken long for news to spread of Andrew Luck’s surprise retirement ahead of the regular NFL season.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter sent the NFL into a frenzy, revealed the 29-year-old Indianapolis Colts quarterback would be retiring just weeks before the new campaign begins.
Filed to ESPN: Andrew Luck has informed the Colts he is retiring from the NFL, per source. There will be a press conference Sunday to make it official, but Luck is mentally worn down, and now checking out.

And fans let him know their feelings about his decision during the Colts preseason game against the Chicago Bears.
Luck, a former number-one draft pick, has battled injuries throughout his career.
He later confirmed the story.

After a brilliant rookie season, Luck has battled injuries throughout his career.
He told reporters that he has been in a “pain cycle” for the last four years.
