Without reading everything in detail. Did your first or any of the subsequent articles state how many parts you are writing? I didn’t see a table of contents or an executive summary at the beginning. How do people know when you are done making your point about specific aspects of your plan?
The format you have chosen to express your views doesn’t lend itself to the “let me finish” defence.

How to fix Australian rugby, Part 3: Protecting and growing revenue

“Would the third or fourth best prop at the Reds be better than the starting props at the Rebels or Force?”

Given the second best TH prop in the Reds cannot even get 1 minute in a 90 minute game, I’d wager not.

Should TT get injured, or perhaps more likely get a disciplinary sit down for a few weeks. I think the Reds season would be be toast.

The Wrap: Rugby Australia must resist being drawn into New Zealand’s spider web

Not much to argue about here. It will be interesting to see what Rennie does.

I expect Koriobete will be overseas by the time the next RWC comes around (if not overseas as soon as next year)
I think Daugunu may factor into things. I believe he is on a long term RA deal as well.

Does Dave Rennie opt for youth or experience in 2020?

Pretty sure there were a couple by the Reds in the Tahs first game. Reece Hodge also drilled one on Friday night too I believe.

Rob Penney says it's tough to match Super AU with Kiwis

High pressure knock out rugby is one thing. That was not it. Last nights extra time (I refuse to call it Super) was 10 minutes of 2 sides waiting for each other to lose. Nobody was trying to win it off their own play.
Is was painful and pointless, in every sense of the word!

Super tiebreaker given thumbs up

Thumbs up? Not by anyone who watched it! 👎 👎

A great big spreadsheet? Careful, a Force supporter may be lurking!

Nah, I recall seeing it when RA posted it. I’m not too worried either way. I just think 2 teams would be the death of Rugby in Australia personally. No data, just a feeling. I also think NZ going it alone will also be self defeating.

Penney warns NZ Rugby off going alone

So you don’t mind the Brumbies being axed?
We have won just as many titles with 4 or more teams as we did with 3. Things are a bit crap at the moment. I don’t think that is due to the number of teams necessarily

Penney warns NZ Rugby off going alone

So you support 2 teams? Just NSW and QLD? That’s what the word out of NZ is they are demanding. Which one will you follow, buy a membership, attend games for?

VC is hardly a lock. Looking at the rest of the players in the back line there is very little experience. It is good to have a leader in the fwds and backs and the rest of the back are either just finding a spot in the starting side and/or are very inexperienced.
I could see Godwin taking over VC. Gordon as VC when fit (though I don’t like halfbacks as VC’s as I prefer VC’s to be 80 min players). Foketi would potentially be a VC candidate id he was fit and on the field.

I think Godwin will see Hunt wrap up his time. But I also think Moeroa will likely be moved on too if we don’t see him by the end of the year. A shame. I thought he would make a good line bender. Our backline is on the small side, so I hope we can develop craft and speed

Super Rugby AU Round 2 teams: Hodge to the bench for Rebels, Hunt back in Tahs lineup

You only get one sympathy lay 😛

Waratahs wary of falling victim to the Force

I think he’s a better lock, but just a bit small. I was hoping to see more of him from 8 to see how he went there

In breaking news. Waratah supporter supports Waratah players. Back to you, Jim!

Perhaps I just prefer to run against the mob on some selections when the mob tend to take pleasure in adopting juvenile names to deride players. My opinion doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things. I am not influencing selection by offering a counter argument or different perspective. I would rather stand by the guy under attack than join the pile on just to be on the winning side of a discussion.

What am I trying to achieve? You made the statement that saying Tah fans were complaining about a Maddocks form. I said I have no recollection of that at all and I asked you to where? I don’t care if anyone said he was poor. Everyone has opinions. But would it be so hard for you to just admit your recollection of something is wrong? Is that so challenging that you have to deflect and go on about other players?
What is wrong with me supporting alternate players. I am not allowed my opinion or to offer a contrasting perspective on players?

Australia’s other forgotten man stands up at Suncorp

Ok. So yep. No grounds for your statement. What was your statement again?
“Not a single Tah fan praised him”. Or was it “plenty said he was worse than Harrison and Ramm”. No it was “a discussion with some Tah fans said he was worse”

Except it wasn’t in the match blogs, nor was it in any of the NB weekly analysis articles that talked about the Tahs in the first half of the season. Nor have any Tah fans commented on this article specifically about Maddocks saying how poor he was.
But it happened. Ok……

Happy for you to link them

Donaldson has a head knock from training, hence the 24 man list. It appears he will be right to play now though.

Super Rugby Week 5: The Force is strong with this one

V the Crusaders he played 10 mins. Reviewing the Blog nobody bagged him
V the Blues he played 24mins and earned praise (even from you)
V the Rebels he started on the wing and there was no complaints about Maddocks (one comment that he tackled well)
V the Chiefs was a rough one from Maddocks it seems. But there was only 1 person saying Ramm was better and that was Ramm on debut. Significantly different standard expected. Note also Ramm turned the ball over more than Maddocks and had a poorer game on defence. But, he made some good runs on debut.
Nothing negative from the Lions or Brumbies games.

Even a review of all of Nick Bishops articles for comments on Maddocks, they only say he should be 15. Nobody bagging his performances at all.

Literally one lonely comment saying Ramm was better at wing than Maddocks (in the Chiefs game) when he was on debut. Nobody was comparing Harrison to Maddocks, nor were there any general comments about Maddock’s form. Everyone wanted Beale out so Maddocks could take over at 15.

He seems to be a jack of all trades and a master of none. I can pretty well argue against him in any position and argue for him there also.
Is that because he has been shifted around a lot? Or is he shifted around a lot because of it?

Super Rugby AU Round 2 teams: Hodge to the bench for Rebels, Hunt back in Tahs lineup

“Still not good enough. How many years has he been in Super rugby?”

Only 1 year longer than Blyth. What’s Blyth done to earn a regular starting position at the Reds aside from stick around long enough for others to leave?

Super Rugby AU Round 2 teams: Hodge to the bench for Rebels, Hunt back in Tahs lineup

“For years we moaned that TK never got the ball”
Nah, the issue was always that TK never passed the ball

Super Rugby AU Round 2 teams: Hodge to the bench for Rebels, Hunt back in Tahs lineup

“Regardless, I’m quite happy to wear the underdog tag all season”

Well, you can’t have it! 😛

Super Rugby Week 5: The Force is strong with this one

Reds, Crusaders, Waratahs, Hurricanes.

Sure thing: Once they wake up there will be grumbles from WA over the unanimous tipping against the Force

Super Rugby Week 5: The Force is strong with this one

I guess I missed the commentary where it was said explicitly that Harrison and Ramm outperformed Maddocks.

Australia’s other forgotten man stands up at Suncorp

Not being singled out for praise as a capped wallaby is hardly an indication of being poor. Just a different set of expectations in relation to a first year rookie straight from u20’s.
Being singled out as poor would be a better barometer for a player of Maddocks experience
