“have you never actually had a prospective employer really want you on board?”
I suspect not

I don’t think he’s ever claimed to

I don’t see him as a test lock. But as a six is a decent option to consider.

Well the ref decided it was. So it’s really not important what Christie thought. The moment he was called to use he had to clear the ball from the scrum.
It’s not the first time this has happened (I recall the Tahs copping it once) and it won’t be the last.
There is no room in the laws for a second shove at that point.

So you think every time the player thinks they know better than the ref they should just ignore the ref and do their own thing? I guess they can if they want. But they better not be surprised when things don’t go their way

“That’s exactly my point. Why is moving forward not ‘using’ the ball?”
Because the law states to play it out of the scrum. It’s pretty black and white.

The scrum was static and he was told to use it. The fact that it got moving again is irrelevant. He must use it immediately.. That’s not telling them how to play. That’s the laws of the game.
“When the scrum is stationary and the ball has been available at the back of the scrum for three-five seconds, the referee calls “use it”. The team must then play the ball out of the scrum immediately. Sanction: Scrum.”

“We’re Waratahs! Of course everything wrong with RA is our fault.”

“Less chance of pulling that off than Rugby Australia coming clean about how much they have spent, and are spending, on propping up the Waratahs.”
MEEOOWWW!

Wow! Lots of negativity here. I’m guessing mainly from non Tah or Blues supporters.
Tough match. Blues came out on top. It happens.
Tahs are an improved side on last year and much better than expected with the squad losses. I think they will start to bring it together soon. It has been a tough draw to contend with.

Great effort. Bloody close. Still performing above expectations imo.

Might skip this weeks game and just watch the win over the Crusaders again

Surprising lack of cards really. I think that shot on Lynagh was absolutely foul play. But also think the reds squeaked through without a closer look at some head on head tackles too.

Reds look like contenders. Brumbies do not. Reds have had a capable squad for a long time but a poor coach.

Super Rugby tipping week three: Will Tahs suffer a hangover from emotional Crusaders win (and DC's 15 schooners)?
Highlanders have always been a tricky side for the Tahs who have not always exited well, and make a lot of mistakes with the ball. Giving the ball to the Tahs and keeping them pegged in their 40 generally offers up cheap ball on the right side of halfway for a set piece or an eventual mistake for something even better. Tahs are starting to show some capacity to clear out of the half, but it’s not convincing yet.

Pretty sad state of affairs. No doubt he’s owed money. Not in question. But to not play? If he plays the house down and get another Wallaby call up it’s less than one match payment. Or even some nice advertising for a new contract elsewhere or overseas.
He’s entitled to do it. Just saying it wouldn’t be my choice
