I don’t know the specifics of how the pressure rating is worked out, but probably fumbling the ball and dropping marks etcetera contributes markedly to the opposition’s ability to ramp up their rating.

Yes, it’s worst case scenario stuff, but Gold Coast will 100% match a bid for Jed Walters, of course the bid might slide, but he’s the consensus 2nd ranked player. The priority pick situation is real. Ben McKay may actually stay at North, but probably won’t. I probably wouldn’t rate Ben McKay highly enough to pay him the 800k or so needed to attract band 1 compo, but there’s definitely interest in him and it may be more attractive for a club to over pay than have to make a trade.

The draft ramifications for West Coast moving up a spot could be a mini disaster. Not just the loss of the rights on Harley Reid or the draft capital they could gain by trading pick 1, but if North Melbourne get band 1 compensation should Ben McKay choose to depart, then North Melbourne will also gain pick 2, if they then put a bid on Gold Coast academic Jed Walters, with Gold Coast matching,they then could take the highest rated Western Australian product, 195cm Daniel Curtin. West Coast effective moving down from pick 1 to pick 4. On top of that their 2nd round pick shifts down two spots rather than one courtesy of North Melbourne receiving a future 2nd round priority last year. There 3rd round pick also shifts two spots as North Melbourne also received a 3rd round priority pick.

It’s probably worth noting that despite Harley Reid’s exploits, Vic Country didn’t win the game. South Australia won with a 16 year old kid named Tyler Welsh playing a significant part. Tyler had missed the first two games with injury, but came in and booted 5 goals. In preseason testing he ran a 2.92 sec 20 m sprint, which would have been good enough to get him ranked 6th at the 2022 draft combine and also a 92cm running jump which would have had him ranked 3rd in that category. He’s the son of Scott Welsh and is an Adelaide father son, elligble in the 2024 draft. Get ready. Oh boy.

So sad that a legend can’t get a game at his club and is let go, only to find that there is no interest in his services from any other club, even though he could be attained at no cost, apparently no interest in the rookie draft. The only way that the legend can get on a list is to audition during the preseason in the hope of being offered a rookie spot by the competitions bottom club.
