The deck is firmly stacked in Australia’s favour when it comes to international rugby league. Origin allows them to block players from playing for NZ and they can pick and choose which islanders they need at any given time. Not to mention they generally play at home with Australian officials. What a joke.

Nah. It’s all about forward dominance. The All Black forward pack use to be immense. At the moment the tight 5 is the weakest I’ve ever seen. I’m pretty sure the professional coaches come up with better strategies than “wait for them to make mistakes”.

To me, Moana Pasifika has a style of play similar to the 5 NZ Super Rugby sides. This isn’t surprising when you consider they have an NZ coaching staff and the majority of their players have come through the NZ rugby system. MP was never going to be the next sun wolves. At the very least they are a team full of ITM cup-level players. I would put money on them beating 3 out of 5 Australian franchises. A number of players have proven that they have the potential to compete at Super Rugby level and beyond.

There would need to be a dramatic turnaround for the current Samoan side to be competitive. The current Samoan team struggles against third-tier opposition. A few ring-ins is not going to make Samoa competitive against the top 4 teams. Probably be able to push teams like Argentina, Wales, Scotland and Italy but Eng, NZ, Aus, France & Ireland should still dispatch these teams by 20+ points.
