All of the Bulldogs inner sanctum had to go through COVID testing today, hence not playing today. Tolman needs to self isolate for 14 days as his child is in that situation through the school as the teacher who tested positive has had interaction with the majority of the school population.

Eight talking points from NRL Round 5

People are concerned about an unfair advantage to a QLD side if they make the GF and its held at Suncorp. If the GF was to be held at Bankwest – the odds on one of the favourites Parramatta would shorten dramatically.

If the crowds are back, and the decision was Bankwest vs Suncorp – it should be a ‘no-brainer’. More seats and a perfect opportunity to give Brisbane that once off opportunity to host a GF in these unique times. Even the NSW government could come out of it looking good and win some brownie points.

It's time for a Queensland NRL grand final

Russell Crowe has given the Chookies another poster to hang on the wall with his rant this week – Roosters will come out firing in another chapter for the Book of Feuds.

The Roar’s NRL expert tips and predictions: Round 22

It’s been such a long time since we’ve not had the likes of Gallen, Pearce, Woods, Jennings, Farah, Bird or Ferguson to rely on to make sure the Maroon Winning streak continued. Freddy and his Blue cohorts have finally selected an Origin worthy side full of skill, speed, talent & will to win. It is a side selected to win rather than stop the dominance of the Maroons. These players have come through the ‘younger’ origin games with success and the current forward pack brings back memories of the early 90’s when Bradley Clyde and Paul Harragon dominated.

We won’t need the Paul Vautin coached miracle of 1995, but we’ll definately be the underdogs like in 2006.

The more Origin changes, the more it stays the same

State of Origin 1 expert tips and predictions: NSW Blues vs Queensland Maroons – Game 1, 2018

A great article that hits the mark on a number of points. The Broncos are so focussed on making sure no one else gets any of the juniors in a wide arch that they sign anyone with potential up to a contract rather than do the intensive development on the select ones as you mentioned. There are many young players missing out on the opportunity and it will play right into the hands of opposition teams as well as that of the NSW Blues. Broncos are not good for QLD.

The Broncos need to fix their junior development far more than they need a new coach

24 hours out may tell a different story, we might see numbers 18, 19, 20 & 21 in the starting 17.

#20 is interesting. Jorge Taufua possibly back earlier than expected from injury.

Maybe defensive sides should stop giving away those penalties in the red zone. Its their way of stopping the Dragons score the tries. Why not take the 2 points every time it is handed to them on a plate. The only game this season we didn’t take the penalties was against the Warriors when they were 6-0 up. They then kept offending when we were attacking and stunting our plays leading to frustration & the eventual loss. Keep the scoreboard ticking over I say & make the opposition chase the scoreboard.

Nine talking points from NRL Round 9

Won’t be long and AJ Brimson will get the #6 jersey very soon.

Nine talking points from NRL Round 9

Options for the Titans at FE – there’s a young kid by the name of AJ Brimson who I reckon Brennan must be close to throwing the #6 jersey on. He can’t do any worse than Cartwright or Elgey and I think he’ll let Taylor play his natural game then.

On one half letting their partner produce his best, both Blake Green for Shaun Johnson and Ben Hunt for Gareth Widdop have been standouts this season. Hunt is showing that the 1.2M is money well spent and the old crankey one (Bennet) could never forgive Hunt dropping the GF trophy, so Hunt needed a new home (and the $$ didn’t hurt)

Smith wasn’t happy in the press conference, and he named Latimore and wanted to blame him, but when you look at the replay, Smith was at his usual antagonist and had dropped the elbow in – Latimore’s retaliation was a direct hit.

And Souths – at the moment, they would be 1 of the top 4 teams on form (with Dragons, Storm & Warriors). They are playing a great brand of football as are the other 3 mentioned. None of this block run after block run. The halves of these teams are playing what’s in front of them and the sides are all enjoying their football. When Sammy returns next week, he needs to play his role and not over dominate. Let the backs get the ball.

Dragons to beat the Rabbitohs in the GF would be a massive one for the game.

Nine talking points from NRL Round 9

No Nathan Brown, Eels 0 & 6 with Raiders following up last week’s return to form

Maybe its a Papalli for Farah swap on the cards ?????

There was inside rumours 2 weeks before the season started that Farah was heading to the raiders

NRL team list Tuesday live blog: Round 5 - all 16 teams named

Round 1 often throws in the upsets and this year on paper has got to be the most difficult round 1 to pick in a long time. Take into account the last 5 games between the opposing teams and Broncos, Sea Eagles, Sharks, Roosters, Rabbitohs & Bulldogs have strong winning records against their opposition this weekend. Anyone for the double upset of Sharks into the Bulldogs ?

The Roar’s NRL expert tips and predictions: Round 1

Hey Scotty – Your Uncles will be impressed – picking the 2 QLD Sides this weekend.

The Roar’s NRL expert tips and predictions: Semi-finals

All week Scotty ? Maybe just a couple of days but I did give you the tip the Tigers were a good thing. Nothing out of left field this week and with so many red hot favourites – bound to be a couple of major upsets on the cards.

The Roar's NRL expert tips and predictions: Round 24

Maybe pulling at straws – but the Warriors have won 4 of the last 5 against the Eels including one of those rare ‘on the road’ victories.

The Roar's NRL expert tips and predictions: Round 13

West Tigers Scott ? You pulled the Titans upset over the Sharks out of the ‘you know where’, no way you’ll be crowing about this upset. Broncos should be at Black Caviar or Winx odds, rather than giving money away at 1.18

Buhrer out – there goes the Knight’s chances

The Roar's NRL expert tips and predictions: Round 7

Balmain, Black & Gold – thought it was the West Tigers with their Black, White & Gold colours?
As for Moses – he seemed to have the keys to car with JT & maybe he’s seen the writing on the wall with Cleary coming on board

Mitchell Moses reportedly asks for immediate release to join Eels

Not the Kilgore Trout of Birchgrove Scorpions fame ???? Pointers have got off to a good start.
Agree with your comments though as went for the Bulldogs based on no Harris, Proctor and Green. Bellamy has the knack and the Storm do enjoy winning the Round 1 games.

Storm's superb start enough to beat the Bulldogs at Belmore
