Thank you 🙂

My EPL top four - including one huge surprise

Wolves have Europa qualifying rounds which I don’t think they will get through. I think their ambitions are in the premier league, not Europe (For Now). After last nights game Wolves have already shown they’re already improving by drawing against Leicester. To be honest I think Leicester will be in the relegation zone this year and we have seen Everton not live up to the hype before.
Champions League is what it’s about, with Champions league money adding to the importance of qualifying, thus why 4th matters. Only teams who don’t care about 4th are those who haven’t and never will play in the Champions League.

My EPL top four - including one huge surprise

Mate, they finished 7th last year? If they finish worse then that the club should be worried. I think Europa and Uefa is fine how it is 🙂

My EPL top four - including one huge surprise

Highly doubt that will happen, but, hey live the dream.

My EPL top four - including one huge surprise

Hi Johnno

I agree with most of what you said, except on the Iwobi part, of course, I tend to think most Arsenal fans only look at the Iowbi from last season with rose coloured glasses. I also became a fan of his towards the end. However, I remember it was only three seasons ago most Arsenal fans and blogs were saying sell him. Would of Iwobi developed to new heights at Arsenal Unai? I personally don’t think so. I also think Everton being the only club being interested in him speaks volume, no disrespect to Everton as a club, but, their not a major European club.

As for the line up who knows how they will walk out against Newcastle. I think playing from the back is the new trendy thing to do in football now and unless you have a higher line to counter against it with speed, having a back 4 is kinda like parking the bus these days.

Why I'm being an optimistic Arsenal fan this season

I have always said even on the radio program, What is the point of introducing VAR TECHNOLOGY, whose sole purpose was to decrease Human Error? If anything it’s increased Human Error in the officiating of games. I much preferred the old system when Human Error contributed to the game itself as opposed to limiting it.

I think commentators like Boz have every right to rant. I also respect people like Ned who can admit they have been wrong about VAR when given a circumstance such as Saturday night. However, I think people like Robbie Slater have more to answer for when they have publicly supported the Sydney FC goal against Perth which was more blatant, but, didn’t support the goal on Saturday. In any case any commentator has a right to an opinion, pro or nay

The Sydney aftermath: Do we need a VAR fair usage policy?

True, however, the hand of god goal wasn’t really the point of this article and was really a side note. it’s amazing, what people choose to react on lol

The Sydney aftermath: Do we need a VAR fair usage policy?

Thanks for your honesty and candour. It takes a lot of decency and courage to admit when your wrong and having the ability to change your mind shows how truly passionate you are of the game. I share most of your insight and thank you for those pearls of wisdom on the early development of VAR. I had no idea of who implemented or how it came to be.

I understand you may have had some dealings with the early stages of development of the VAR technology and if you want to speak to our radio show or myself anonymously, please feel free to do so. I think an expose on how it came to be will be vital on why we’re having so many issues now.

I agree, Ange also bought up this fact in his book. Perhaps the FFA should treat Asian players as domestic, so they dont take up visa spots and this small gesture could be a small start to blossoming that Asian relationship. Considering we’re in the Asian division we really do need to make more strides in Asia somehow and show we’re apart of the team and that we’re not a troubling outsider.

Asia is the future for the A-League

I’m sure you guys will do well ;).

My picks for A-League expansion

Social Media numbers can be bought and with social media bots, those numbers are not truly reflective. Hopefully, the FFA see it’s not the only driving indicator of a bids importance for expansion.

My picks for A-League expansion

You never know they very well could be… I would encourage the club to engage more with the football community at large.

My picks for A-League expansion

SWS is only favourited by Sydney FC Supporters and Sydney media personalities who want to detract from the Southern Expansion bid i.e Robbie Slater. Nobody in South West Sydney is supporting this bid. I don’t know what following you’re referring too? If SWS is elected, it will fail miserably, and I’m sure the FFA can see that. If what your saying is true the bid should release how many foundation members they have signed and public release what community consultation they have had, if any. Dont fall for cloak and dagger tricks from the other bids, if you’re not actually from a bid.

Again it’s my pick based on who we spoke to and based on those conversations, I agree Sothern Expansion, Team Eleven, Western Melbourne are great picks, However, I think Canberra is an important logistic addition. Your free to disagree

My picks for A-League expansion

Comments by anonymous users don’t speak for much. Especially when some of those IP addresses are coming from Sydney FC HQ or multiple accounts have the same IP Adress? I, however, am willing to put my name to my opinion. If I’m wrong, I’m wrong, but, like the heading of the article says; It’s who I think are a good fit based on who we spoke too.

I have no bias either way who gets the nod, however, it’s clear others belong to opposing bids and have some agenda. I think it’s important we have discussions like this as it only promotes our game. It’s also good we can be civil in that conversation and not resort to petty name calling or cheap banter.

My picks for A-League expansion

I congratulate you and please promote this view inside the whole of your club. Plus it wouldn’t be a bad idea to make some official statement expressing your view. Fans who prove to be doing otherwise should be dealt with harshly by the club. The mixed messaging is really confusing!

My picks for A-League expansion

Well, they should come on the program and tell us that ;). like we said, we are supportive of an independent Wolves bid. thus why we wanted to speak to them. But if they dont come on radio shows like ours and pitch it, how are people supposed to know? We dont live in the area and we can only judge what’s in front of us. However, I dont know if the FFA feel the same way we do. I’m sure the Wolves will eventually be readmitted it’s just a matter of when.

My picks for A-League expansion

Again the ethos and values of the club must reflect its area and SWS are definitely not reflective of South West Sydney, refusing to speak or get thier local radio station involved in thier Campaign speaks volume after the community consultation the Wanderers gave. if this how SWS behave now, what are they going to like before a club is announced? Imagine how bombastic it will be if they got the nod. Playing in shared venue’s isn’t ideal we need football specific venues if we want to stop playing second fiddle to Rugby league and AFL.

Expansion can’t be a band-aid solution, it must also show our intentions as a code. Canberra and Wollongong/ the Shire or Ipswich are indicative of that intent. An expansion bid must also get instant results on and off the pitch, Western Melbourne provides that assurance if a third Sydney clubs is too politically hot for the FFA.

My picks for A-League expansion

Maybe not, but the idea itself was interesting to attack the heartland of rugby league. Something this code needs to do.

My picks for A-League expansion

Can you prove that? Perhaps the Wolves could come on the program and explain how thier bid is more reflective of the area? We can only go off what’s in front of us and the Southern Expansion group were very good at explaining their vision. In my experience it’s only Sydney FC fans who have problems with the expansion bid and thier isn’t that many of them in the shire.

My picks for A-League expansion

Just a suggestion on how to get both bids co-operating with each other as the area does need A-League representation and I have a lot of time for the Wolves regardless if they came on our show or not. I just hope something can be worked out.

My picks for A-League expansion

I think the more we spread out and spread our game the better. We can just rely on city centres to prop up our league, everyone needs to be involved, including regional areas. However, as I said, I think a third Sydney team will be too politically hot for the FFA atm and Western Melbourne may very well get the nob.

My picks for A-League expansion

Too many people in South-West Sydney are committed to the Wanderers. Plus the SWS bid wasn’t community reflective at all. There are more season ticket holders in SWS for the Wanderers then there are Sydney FC ticket holders in the Shire.

As somebody who lives in South Western Sydney, they have done a very poor job of reaching out to the community and getting them involved.

My picks for A-League expansion

We tried to get the Wolves on our show but they were unresponsive, in saying that I agree. I would love to see them in the A-league, but they need a lot of work to remain competitive at a top level.

Brisbane City pulled out of the bidding war, however, so the only Queensland bid remaining was Ipswich.

My picks for A-League expansion

We actually spoke to the representatives of each bid, that would speak to any other outlet 🙂 , So yes, As I agree with expansion i hope it is delivered as promised from 19/20 season.

My picks for A-League expansion

PS. Also in relation to their agent, they may be exploiting an agents books, but, I don’t think thier anything illegal, it’s just smart purchasing. if they are doing something illegal I’m sure it will surface as it wouldn’t be hard to trace these days.

Could Wolverhampton be headed for the top four?
