Yeah, it’s beginning to be a super conspicuous silence. I can appreciate not announcing anything if it was just journalistic leaks, but given afl.com.au is running it, Carlton need to say something.
They’re letting other dictate the story and that’s never good.
Carlton sack coach David Teague after 'confronting' review of 2021 failures
Horrendously handled by Carlton.
I feel for Teague, clearly a great guy and he was doing (in my opinion) good things at the Blues.
Wouldn’t be a bad option for Freo to pick up as a forwards coach. The Dockers are crappy in that area, and Teague was evidently doing alright with the Blues, so if I were Freo I’d be asking the question.

Seems I’m really running my own race in tipping. This is either going to go really well or really badly for me.
The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions: Finals Week 1
Not saying he’s a target or will be part of the Cerra trade, but Fisher’s long been linked to Freo.
Cerra officially requests trade to Victoria
Halls Creek is definitely in WA, Jonboy.
Then there were eight: AFL Round 23 power rankings
So, pick 6 and next year’s first rounder for us, Cerra for the Blues? It seems at first a bit overs, but it’s obviously something I’d take with little hesitation.
Cerra officially requests trade to Victoria
Haha, a Cerra for Cripps swap seems quintessentially Carlton and wouldn’t be beyond the realm of possibility.
Cerra officially requests trade to Victoria
Definitely 6 no matter what. I’d be content with 6 and 27. 6 and a future first would likely be leaning towards overs, all things being sensible.
Purely hypothetical, but given we’re heavily linked to the Cats’ Jordan Clark, might be some potential for some sorta three way deal there? Again, I have zero idea how (or if) that would work, but food for thought.
Cerra officially requests trade to Victoria
Sad, but not surprising. Freo simply have to play hardball to garner some good compensation for Cerra.

Seems to be no movement on the coaching saga today, Macca. Teague might have got a stay of execution for a few more days.
I will say though that if he doesn’t leave it’s gonna be mightily embarrassing for the entire AFL media contingent. They’ve been hedging their bets for a while that he will! I guess that’s why the ‘Dew being sacked’ rumours have begun; a rumour file contingency plan or something 😂
Have we seen the best game of the year? Six talking points for AFL Round 23
B+. Clearly is doing all the right things, and a bit more luck – or just luck full stop – with injury will help next year.
Hearing a lot of whispers about us poaching Chris Mayne to join our coaching staff, and that should help given our forward set up is consistently a horribly lacklustre part of our game (as evidence yesterday!).
Have we seen the best game of the year? Six talking points for AFL Round 23
Yeah, clearly missing a few to injury didn’t help but it was an astonishingly timid performance from Freo.
A super disappointing way to finish the season, and yet, somehow, I was not surprised.

Look … yeah, that was a bad tip.

The Doggies in worse form was clearly the bigger story, but I did make sure to simultaneously include plenty of praise for your boys!

I didn’t necessarily hold back on Freo, Macca!
Have we seen the best game of the year? Six talking points for AFL Round 23
Yep, pretty apt way to describe Carlton’s clash. I just saw Teague calling out Brown a few minutes ago and I laughed pretty hard. He’s certainly going out swinging!

In fairness I was hoping the other two would be going with Port so I could sneak in and claim the “upset” tip…
… that backfired.

If he proves he doesn’t get it, he shouldn’t be a part of the sport. And right now – between the racism, the shoddy apology video, the odd response from a few parts of the industry – he doesn’t appear to fully get it. I appreciate him being contrite about it, but he hasn’t proven anything except he feels bad.
I must say I’m not holding my breath on any of this though, given the long list of footy figures that remain public figures in this industry after some pretty heinous actions.
Why Taylor Walker’s apology isn't enough
Again, with respect, you’re not really articulating much more than cliches.
He’s not having his life destroyed. And certainly not by “some random”, if you recall this stemmed from a report by a Crows staffer.
The hypocrisy remains the biggest frustration from me – if he hasn’t learnt from his time at the club and the industry, he shouldn’t be a part of it.
Why Taylor Walker’s apology isn't enough
With respect, the use of the ‘holier than thou’ line to describe people criticising Taylor is a bit of a misrepresentation too. You don’t want a scenario where people can’t denounce racism and question the whole response without being labelled as doing something seemingly radical or ‘going too far’.
The biggest problem here – at least for me – isn’t the racism, it’s the hypocrisy and the lame response from Walker and other parties. I’m not needlessly lambasting him, it just strikes me as though he just doesn’t get it – or at least hasn’t been able to learn from everything else that’s happened in his vicinity over the last few years.
I’m not sure an individual deserves to be part of the sport if that’s the case.
Why Taylor Walker’s apology isn't enough
